You set yourself free from daily turbulence with a change of perspective

When everything is moving very quickly, you tend to lose the big picture, and the longing to find a refuge is strong. You ask yourself, is there a place where things are easier and simpler? Well, there is!

Many of us look for answers and solutions on the same level in which we have found our problems. However, this tends to make things more confusing and in some cases can even make them worse. You grasp for tools, answers or advice that can fix the situation at hand, and as soon as you have solved it the next problem pops up.

The only thing that can get you out of this rat-race is to invite a new perspective into your life; a perspective that comes from what brings you meaning.

Many of us fail to investigate the question “what is meaningful to me?” We think that we don’t have the time and energy to spend reflecting on such luxuries. We have so many other things to do first. Ironically though, finding your own meaning is the only thing that will set you free from the turbulence and confusion you experience in your daily life.

The simplicity and ease comes when you are able to pull yourself out of the rat-race level and view things from the level of meaning. You need to find the stability within yourself, because that is the only place you will be able to find the kind of peace you are looking for.

Instead of looking desperately outward for solutions that might seem reasonable, you have to start to look inward to make prioritizations and decisions based on what brings meaning into your life (see more). This is where you find your refuge; a level of meaning that you can enter at any time and place.

When you have a continuous focus on what brings you meaning in your life and career, you have established another level from which you evaluate, put things in perspective and create solutions.

In short you have to do following:

Once you know what brings you meaning  you can throughout the day ask yourself the following questions:

  • What is the most meaningful way to move forward given what I value (For more…)?
  • What can I do to HELP the situation at hand?
  • What brings meaning on a larger scale?

This will bring you out of the turbulence and give a more clear direction and a meaningful perspective on your daily activities. From the level of meaning things become more peaceful.

Good luck with finding the refuge you are looking for.
